Trade Details
CANUCKS, SHARKS SWAP FOUR Saturday, June 22, 2019
The Vancouver Canucks acquired winger Francis Perron and a seventh-round draft pick in 2019 (No. 215 overall) from the San Jose Sharks for a sixth-round draft pick in 2019 (No. 164 overall) and forward Tom Pyatt.
What does it give the Vancouver Canucks?
Perron is a marginal prospect who will likely play play mostly in the AHL in 2019-20. The Canucks are looking for depth here, which is why they downgraded from a sixth-rounder to a seventh.
What does it give the San Jose Sharks?
The Sharks were able to move up 51 spots in the draft simply by sending Perron to Vancouver. So, GM Doug Wilson did well here. As for Pyatt, he is a pending UFA and may never play for the Sharks.
Fantasy Impact
Perron is unlikely to crack Vancouver's lineup in 2019-20 (he might be recalled when injuries hit the forward corps), so he holds no fantasy value. Ditto Pyatt, a pure defensive specialist.
