Quick and fluid on his skates, he moved well laterally. Was usually in a compact, balanced crouch, helping him square up to shooters. Went into his butterfly effortlessly and was difficult to beat in close. Flashed a solid glove hand. Stuck around and gained a lot of experience. Was average-sized and played even smaller because he was so often crouched. Went down on his knees too quickly, leaving him open to cross-ice passes. Struggled to get out to challenge shooters and played so deeply in his crease that he could be vulnerable to high shots. | |
