Makarov signed with Spartak Moscow of the KHL on Monday, NBCSports reports.
Makarov will report to AHL Rochester after getting cut on Sunday.
Andrey Makarov has been called up by the Buffalo Sabres.
Jhonas Enroth, Michal Neuvirth, Matthew Hackett, and Nathan Lieuwen are all hurt, so the Sabres needed yet another goaltender. He has a 2.49 GAA and .919 save percentage in eight AHL games this season.
The Sabres assigned Andrey Makarov to Rochester of the AHL.
The Amerks need him as they play three games in four nights and are fighting for a playoff spot. The Sabres promoted Connor Knapp to back up Matthew Hackett in Makarov's place.
Andrey Makarov was called up from the minors on Tuesday.
He served as Matthew Hackett's backup in a 4-2 loss to Detroit. The Sabres have several goaltenders injured right now, but it's late in the year and the team already has last place locked up.
