Girard was designated for waivers by Colorado on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sportsreports.

Girard signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Avalanche on Tuesday.

Girard will be assigned to AHL San Antonio following his trade to the Avalanche organization.

Girard was traded to Colorado on Friday in exchange for forward Cody McLeod.

Nashville has signed Felix Girard to a three-year, entry-level contract. He registered 43 points, 130 penalty minutes and a plus-30 rating in 58 games with the QMJHL's Baie-Comeau Drakkar this past season. Girard was a fourth-round pick of the Predators in the 2013 draft.
