Downing signed a one-year contract with the Oilers on Saturday.

Downing was one of eight players recalled by the Wild, with AHL Iowa's 2015-16 season now complete.

The Wild activated Downing from injured reserve non-roster and assigned him to AHL Iowa on Friday.

Downing will miss two to three weeks with a lower-body injury suffered at the prospects tournament in Traverse City, Michigan, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
