Flames to give Brandon Bollig bigger role
Calgary Sun
News
Look for the Calgary Flames to give the recently acquired Brandon Bollig a bigger role than he had in Chicago.
Forecaster Impact
Bollig saw fourth line action with the Blackhawks and still managed seven goals and 14 points last season while dishing out 203 hits. "The more you play, the better you feel, I think," Bollig said. "I loved my role here in Chicago, but when you change teams, you get the new look and new coaches think different things about certain roles and certain players. I'm excited to see where this takes me and, hopefully, expand my role and have a good exciting season up in Calgary. My time here in Chicago was amazing, and I'll never forget it. But it's going to be fun to help rebuild that organization." Look for Bollig to go from 10 minutes per game of action to 12-14, and get 12-15 goals and 25-30 points.

Flames quire Bollig for 83 pick in draft
NBC Chicago
News
The Calgary Flames have acquired Brandon Bollig from the Chicago Blackhawks for the 83rd pick in this year's entry draft.
Forecaster Impact
With the salary cap set at $69 million, the Hawks were forced to shed some salary. Bollig just signed a 3-year extension at $1.25 million per season and the Hawks just couldn't afford to keep him with the cap $2 million less than what it could have been. Bollig, who registered a mere 14 points in 125 NHL games with the Hawks, may be able to land a slightly bigger role in Calgary than he had on a loaded Chicago squad but he still should not be high on anyone's fantasy radar.

Bollig's suspension ends, skates on 4th line
Chicago Sun-Times
News
Brandon Bollig is eligible to get back into Chicago's lineup for Game 1 of the Western Conference Final.
Forecaster Impact
He was suspended for two playoff games for boarding Minnesota defenseman Keith Ballard. Bollig was back with regular-season linemates Marcus Kruger and Ben Smith on the fourth unit at practice on Thursday. "Our role during the season, we kind of knew we were going to be out there against another team's top one or two lines," Bollig said. "So you kind of know when they come over the boards, so are we. So it's nice that he put us back together. I don't know if that's the role we're going to play again. Hopefully, [it is]. But if it is, we're going to be ready for that."
