Had the size, strength and aggression to be a dominant force in the corners. Was more than willing to stand up for his teammates and protected smaller linemates (although he sometimes crossed the line). He did not have enough skill to regularly play on an offensive line but added depth scoring on a checking or energy unit. His physical style resulted in injuries that cost him chunks of playing time. Also dealt with personal issues during his NHL career.
