Weise inked a one-year contract with Swedish club IK Oskarshamn on Monday, per agent Nick Riopel.

The Canadiens aren't going to re-sign Weise, which means he'll hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent Oct. 9, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Weise filled in for Nate Thompson (illness) on the fourth line in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Dallas. He had two shots, five hits and one blocked shot over 11:48 of ice time.

Weise was recalled from AHL Laval on Sunday.

Weise had two assists, one shot, four hits and one blocked shot over 9:10 of ice time in Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over the Golden Knights.

Weise recorded an assist in Monday's 2-0 win over the Flames.

The Canadiens recalled Weise from AHL Laval on Wednesday.

Weise was placed on waivers by Montreal on Thursday for the purpose of reassignment, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports.

Weise was called up from AHL Laval on Monday, TSN reports.

The Canadiens shifted Weise to AHL Laval on Tuesday.
