Coach Alain Vigneault has been very impressed with rookies Danny Kristo, Jesper Fast and Oscar Lindberg.
The Rangers dealt Christian Thomas in the off-season to Montreal and received Kristo in return and thus far they are happy with his play as well as Fast and Lindberg. "They're all going to get the opportunity to play in situations where they can succeed," Vigneault said. "When you're talking about Fast and Kristo, they're supposed to be offensive players, so I'm trying to get them on lines to match their skill level. With four games in five nights coming up, we're going to get a real good read on where our young players are. So far none have let us down; it's been exciting to see the young energy." Look for Kristo to start the season in the minors as he played NCAA last season where he scored 26 goals and 52 points in 40 games.
