In his prime, he was a Norris Trophy-caliber rearguard who could do it all on the ice: rush with the puck, shoot with aplomb, quarterback a power play and shut down top forwards. Knew how to get under an opponent's skin, which usually benefited his team. His showmanship and personality was often misunderstood in the sport of hockey, but he was definitely worth the price of admission when on top of his game. His body broke down over time due to heavy minutes in all game situations, and he ended his playing career relatively early. | |
