| Was a towering presence on the wing, and knew how to lay on the body to intimidate the opposition. Could also provide pugilistic support and play an enforcer role. Was also a great leader and terrific teammate. Became somewhat of a celebrity late in his playing career and was wildly popular. Had trouble keeping up with the speed of the NHL. Did not have much of an offensive arsenal and struggled to fend off fleet-footed opponents. Could take bad penalties from time to time that could hurt his team. Started his career on defense but could not handle the position at the NHL level. | |
