Caps' Jack Hillen (upper body) out today
Washington Post
News
Washington defenseman Jack Hillen will sit out this afternoon's game against Boston with an upper body injury suffered when he collided with teammate Alex Ovechkin on Tuesday night.
Forecaster Impact
Hillen will be replaced in the lineup by John Erskine, who has not played since March 5. "It helps being a bigger guy," Oates said of Erskine's physical presence against the Bruins. "But you've got to move the puck, you've got to skate. We're at the day and age you've got to be able to do everything. You can't hide players. When John is feeling good with his leg I think he's one of our good defensemen."

We'll see how I feel when I get home. The next morning is the key. If I feel better [Monday] I should be good to go." Jack Hillen is still skating at practice
Washington Post
News
Jack Hillen, who has been out of action since October 3 with a fractured left tibial plateau, skated with his teammates in practice for the first time.
Forecaster Impact
Hillen hopes to return before the end of the season. "The X-rays look good, we've taken extra scans and everything is going pretty well. It's just tough to put a timeline on this type of injury," Hillen said. "I've got to keep working, keep skating. Every single time I skate I feel like I make improvements somewhere, which is a good thing. I'm happy with where I'm at, but I have pain every time I skate." There is no timetable for his return.
