The Anaheim Ducks have sent Zack Stortini to the minors.
Stortini has played 257 regular season games in the NHL but the enforcer, who has 725 career penalty minutes, spent all of last season in the minors with Hamilton and will now play for the Ducks AHL affiliate in Norfolk. Also sent down were Max Friberg, John Mitchell, Charlie Sarault, Chris Wagner, Maxime Sauve, Kevin Gagne, Andrew O'Brien, Stefan Warg and Teigan Zahn.
Zack Stortini has inked a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks.
Stortini had six points and 241 penalty minutes in 73 AHL games last season. As you might guess, he could challenge for the PIM lead if he played regularly at the NHL level, but he's more likely to spend the 2013-14 campaign in the minors.
