He became the 10th U.S.-born NHL player to reach the 400-goal mark. Was a fine playmaker, especially earlier in his career when he played center, as well as a great finisher who knew how to play without the puck. Was one of the most effective shootout scorers in NHL history and a master of tipping shots from the point. He was not big, fast or physical--just effective.
