Had the hockey sense needed to play at a very high level in the NHL. He was big enough to help keep the front of the net clear, plus he had a great point shot, solid fundamentals and a good all-around game. Spent much of his career on a shutdown pairing, but was also effective in a reduced role late in his NHL career.
