Had excellent offensive instincts, which he exploited brilliantly on the power play thanks to deft puck control and passing ability. Was a very good playmaker, as well as a solid goal-scorer. Was somewhat undersized and lacked strength (he could be knocked off the puck). Not an especially great straightline skater, he was not a great player without the puck on his stick.
