Could be a major offensive threat from behind the blueline. Had a wealth of top-level experience and plenty of polish working the power play. Was a clever passer who packed a heavy shot from the point. Liked to join the rush. Lacked the size and strength needed to excel when given heavy minutes in the NHL.
