Had great timing in lining opponents up for huge hits; he was not big, but tough and intimidating in open ice (the term "Kronwalled" is now part of hockey lexicon thanks to him). Skated well and was usually in sound defensive position. Had offensive ability, as well. A good puckhandler and passer, he was a real asset on the power play. Struggled at times when having to deal with bigger power forwards in front of the net. His lack of size (and big-hitting tendencies) led to plenty of injuries. Was a bit inconsistent in terms of his offensive production. | |
Long Range Potential: | Quality, all-around defenseman with big-hitting ability, when healthy. |
