A lot of hockey players dominate lesser leagues in their draft year, making them a little harder to evaluate moving forward. He is such a case, after posting 37 goals and 76 points in just 25 games at the Minnesota high school hockey level. Owns obvious offensive ability and a tremendous work rate but he will need to consistently showcase both attributes against better opponents in order to maximize his prospect status. Owns a projectable frame and the ability to play center but he must become more of a two-way pivot (he was not needed to defend in high school hockey). His commitment to the University of Minnesota-Duluth should help in measuring his overall NHL prospects. | |
