At least it was assumed that Allen was a healthy scratch until coach Bruce Boudreau said that Allen has been dealing with some minor injuries. "It wasn't that Bryan is doing anything wrong," Boudreau said. "He had a lot of hurts. We just wanted to make sure that when he was hurt, and it started when he pulled his groin about a month ago, he didn't practice. So he got a little bit out of his game shape and then he got hurt again in another part of his body. It was more of give him a rest but practice him hard type thing. Now I think he's ready to go back in." Allen has only seven assists in 46 games but does contribute with a plus-16 rating and 44 penalty minutes for poolies.
