Forecaster Impact
Briere scored with 0.5 seconds left in the third period. It was nice to finally see Colorado score some goals as Minnesota shut them out twice to start the season. Jamie McGinn had the other Avalanche goal. Briere was plus-one with four shots on goal.

Avalanche winger Daniel Briere is not expected to make much of an impact in his new home.
sportsnetwork.com
Forecaster Impact
He was almost non-existent during his only season in Montreal (25 points in 69 games), but is hoping a change of scenery will do the trick. Briere is 36-years-old, but hockey is a sport where players can produce well into their thirties. Do not expect much, but if he can get it going on the power play early in the season, Briere could push for 50 points in 2014-15.

Danny Briere helps Habs beat Bruins in Game 7

News
Danny Briere was a warrior for the Habs in their Game 7 battle with the Bruins on Wednesday night, assisting on Montreal's opening goal and scoring the Habs' insurance marker in the team's 3-1 win over Boston.
Forecaster Impact
Briere was a healthy scratch in Game 5, but responded in a big way when it really mattered. His cross-ice feed to Dale Weise gave the Habs an early lead, and power play goal late in the third put the nail in the coffin for the once mighty Bruins. Briere has two goals and six points in 10 post season games.

Briere: We don't want to dismiss Tampa Bay
Calgary Sun
News
Daniel Briere doesn't want to write off the Tampa Bay Lightning in Montreal's first round series.
Forecaster Impact
Montreal has a 3-0 lead going into Game 4 on Tuesday. "The Lightning are a tenacious team," said Briere. "We saw it this year after they lost Stamkos (with a broken leg in November). Everyone expected them to fall apart and they did the opposite, they came together and finished strong to come second in the division. I expect the same from them tonight. They've faced adversity before and they won't give up that easily." They overcame the loss of Stamkos in large part due to the efforts of Martin St. Louis and Ben Bishop. St. Louis is gone after demanding a trade and Bishop is hurt, which makes the Lightning's nearly impossible task all the more daunting.
