The No. 12 overall player taken in the 2016 draft has taken a long time to find an NHL role, but after being a top gun in junior hockey he is settling in as a good-skating, defense-first center. He is fast, has improved his work on faceoffs and has gotten better in his defensive-zone coverage. Any offense he provides in this kind of role is a bonus, but there is room for growth in his game.
