The Oilers aren't going to extend Redmond a qualifying offer, so he'll enter free agency Friday.

The Oilers acquired Redmond and a 2022 seventh-round pick in exchange for Joel Persson on Monday.

Redmond was reassigned to AHL San Diego on Wednesday.

Redmond was called up from AHL San Diego on an emergency basis with Ryan Miller (undisclosed) a question mark for Monday's game with the Canucks, Eric Stephens of The Athletic reports.
