Lemieux agreed to terms on a three-year contract with Swiss club HC Davos on Monday.

The Hurricanes placed Lemieux on unconditional waivers Friday, for the purpose of terminating his contract, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Lemieux (undisclosed) was waived by Carolina on Wednesday, per James Mirtle of The Athletic.

Lemieux is dealing with an undisclosed injury and is "going to be out a while," coach Rod Brind'Amour told Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal on Wednesday.

Lemieux notched a goal and an assist in Sunday's 7-2 win over Ottawa.

Lemieux signed a one-year, $775,000 contract extension with Carolina on Monday.

Lemieux was placed on waivers Thursday, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic.

Lemieux was handed a 10-minute misconduct penalty at the end of Thursday's clash with Colorado.

Lemieux has missed the past seven games as a healthy scratch.
