Could line up at all three forward positions. Played with poise and patience. Owned good vision and two-way smarts. Had impressive size and reach. Could be used in a wide variety of roles at the NHL level. Should have been able to play more of a power game in the NHL for a greater impact (but it rarely happened). Was prone to mental lapses on the ice. Lacked natural goal-scoring ability. Also lacked consistency.
