This is a trade that was to be expected, since the Jets are currently missing all four of their top blueliners to injury: Trouba Enstrom Bogosian and Stuart Therefore, they sent a late pick for a depth defenseman like Harrison, a blueliner familiar with current Jets coach Paul Maurice from their days together in Carolina.

For the 'Canes, this is probably just the beginning of more changes. Harrison wasn't being used every night by new Carolina coach Bill Peters, so the writing was probably on the wall. This should allow the 'Canes to evaluate Czech rearguard Jordan at the National Hockey League level better. The pick is a bonus for a team expected to be sellers.

The big fantasy winner here should be Jordan, who will likely receive more minutes with the Hurricanes. He's a fantasy dark horse. As for Harrison, his value is virtually non-existent.
