The Senators recently learned that veteran winger Clarke MacArthur (concussion symptoms) will not play at all this season, so adding Wingels provides some of that missing depth. While MacArthur is a scorer, however, Wingels is more of an energy forward for the fourth line. Still, he should help Ottawa down the stretch. He can kill penalties and play center or wing, so he should fit in well with coach Guy Boucher in Ottawa.

The Sharks probably value the late-round pick most in this transaction, though Robinson still boasts a little untapped upside. Wingels had been seeing a lot of time as the team's fourth-line center this season, but Micheal Haley and Ryan Carpenter can also be used in that role. Stortini is a tough guy who will most likely remain in the AHL during his stint with the Sharks. Wingels was scheduled to become a UFA on July 1.

Perhaps San Jose is the perfect landing spot for Robinson to finally bust out as a potential NHL power forward. His fantasy stock gets a slight uptick following this deal, while Wingels' value remains extremely limited. Stortini has no value whatsoever, while Carpenter's value has increased due to the expectation of more ice time with Wingels gone. Still, he is a dark horse (at most).
