| Could consistently pump his fastball into the mid-90's, even at an advanced age. Could also handle a fairly heavy workload and was effective in the late innings in MLB. His fastball was too straight, so hitters would often tee off on him--especially left-handed bats. Control was also an issue with him. Was not an ideal closer, as a result. | |
