This classically crafty lefty is not going to overwhelm MLB hitters with raw power, opting instead to minimize fastball usage by getting ahead and staying ahead. The slider is his best swing-and-miss offering, especially against left-handed hitters since it has a slightly above-average break and almost flat depth. His curve could use some work but it is still effective enough to drop for strikes late in innings. Holding down a spot in the back half of the rotation is not out of the question if he can improve his command and reliability. Otherwise, he is a fine and versatile bullpen option. | |
