The Marlins released Hernandez earlier this month, Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America reports.

Hernandez made his 2018 debut last week with short-season Batavia and has appeared in four games, going 4-for-17 with a walk and seven strikeouts.

Hernandez suffered a minor undisclosed injury this spring, but is expected to be ready for game action in the near future, MLB.com's Mike Rosenbaum reports.
