ARIZONA ADDS VERSATILE CHRIS HERRMANN Tuesday, November 10, 2015
The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann from the Minnesota Twins for first baseman/outfielder Daniel Palka.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks?
In Herrmann, the D'backs land a very versatile player who could land a spot on Arizona's bench in 2016. He might become a utility man for them, capable of catching on occasion and also serving as a backup corner outfielder.
What does it give the Minnesota Twins?
Palka is an intriguing power hitter who can play first base or a corner outfield position. He is not likely to compete for a job in the bigs this spring but could be a factor in Minnesota reasonably soon. This was a good pickup by the Twins.
Fantasy Impact
Herrmann isn't likely to have much more fantasy value in Arizona than he had in Minnesota, so he should be off the radar. Palka has keeper-league appeal but won't likely make a fantasy impact for another season (or two).
