HALOS LAND OF ROBERTSON Thursday, November 20, 2014
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim acquired outfielder Daniel Robertson from the Texas Rangers for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels?
Robertson is a 29-year-old journeyman who profiles as a fourth outfielder in the big leagues, so he stands a decent chance of winning a job with the Angels in the spring. He's a gritty gamer who can steal a base and draw a walk, so he brings some value to a contending team.
What does it give the Texas Rangers?
The Rangers got decent mileage out of Robertson in 2014, so they parlayed him into a future player or some cash. That's a good return for a team in desperate need of a lot of help, everywhere. They weren't going to play Robertson a lot anyway, so they moved on.
Fantasy Impact
Robertson doesn't have great fantasy value because he's more of a bench player, so there isn't much to see here from a fantasy perspective.
