Owned an outstanding frame (6'6", 240 pounds), a great arm and the velocity needed to dominate in the minors. Could be used as either a starter or reliever, though he was mostly a late-inning bullpen man in MLB. Had a tendency to lose velocity off his fastball from time to time, so he actually may have been better served developing his craft as a starter. Struggled to fully hone all of his pitches. Ended his career abruptly at a relatively early age in order to do other things, so his desire to play the game of baseball can be questioned. | |
Long Range Potential: | Big, versatile right-hander. |
