The Diamondbacks have signed Brewer to a minor league deal and he played in an extended spring training game on Wednesday, Jack Magruder of Fanragsports.com reports.

Brewer signed a minor league deal with the Mariners on Saturday.

Diamondbacks optioned RHP Charles Brewer to Triple-A Reno. Brewer has posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 5/2 K/BB ratio in six innings this season out of the Arizona bullpen. He should get another try later this year.

Brewer tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings during his first stint with the big club earlier this season and owns a 5.38 ERA and 69/24 K/BB ratio in 14 starts and one relief appearance in Triple-A. He'll provide a fresh arm to a taxed Arizona bullpen.
