Scouting Report
A good athlete with soft hands, he made a fairly smooth transition from infielder to catcher in MLB. His catch-and-throw skills from behind the plate were very good. Worked extremely hard to improve his craft. Did not have much in the way of home-run power, which limited his at-bats at the highest level. Also, he obviously lacked refinement in the nuances of catching and also lacked consistency at the plate.
Long Range Potential: Athletic catcher.
