Generated good power with his big frame but also ran well for a big guy. Could play solid defense in either center or right field. Was at his best when hitting at the top of the batting order. Struck out a fair amount. Also had a tendency to get caught stealing a bit too much. Was not as consistent at the plate against left-handed pitching as he was against right-handers.
