Orioles released RHP Tim Alderson. The 25-year-old hurler, and first round pick of the Giants from the 2007 draft, owned a 6.12 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 37/19 K/BB ratio over 50 innings at Triple-A Norfolk. He'll attempt to latch on elsewhere on a minor league deal.

Orioles re-signed RHP Tim Alderson to a minor league contract. The 25-year-old right-hander, who was acquired from the Pirates in July in the Russ Canzler trade, posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 81/22 K/BB ratio over 88 2/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A in 2013. He'll continue to serve as organizational depth for the O's.

Orioles acquired RHP Tim Alderson from the Pirates in exchange for 1B/OF Russ Canzler. A former top prospect, Alderson has moved to a relief role full-time this season and has fared well, posting a 2.43 ERA and 55/12 K/BB ratio over 55 2/3 frames between Double- and Triple-A. He's been assigned to Triple-A Norfolk.
