| Had a fantastic bat: hit for near-elite power while displaying superb patience and a great eye for contact. A good RBI man, he also ran the bases well and was a cerebral player overall. Unfortunately, he was also prone to injury. Struck out a little too much (for his era). Made his share of errors at first base. Lacked consistency at times. Would also get frustrated from time to time with the lack of good pitches he saw. | |
