Jeremy Accardo has signed a contract with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League. The right-hander was released by the Nationals last June after posting a 5.56 ERA in 22 2/3 innings at Triple-A and failed to catch on with another MLB-affiliated club.

Nationals released RHP Jeremy Accardo. Accardo, 31, had a 5.56 ERA and 18/12 K/BB ratio over 22 2/3 innings with the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate. He'll attempt to latch on elsewhere.

Nationals signed RHP Jeremy Accardo to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Accardo posted a 4.82 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 29/16 K/BB ratio in 37 1/3 innings last season between the Indians and A's. He's likely to open 2013 at Triple-A Syracuse.
