| Was well above average at the plate for the catching position, especially since he could switch-hit and draw a fair amount of walks. Also boasted decent home-run power. His receiving skills left a lot to be desired for a catcher in MLB and he was not the best at calling a game. Therefore, he was never a great everyday big-league catcher.
