A switch-hitter with surprising power from both sides, he was supremely patient at the dish. A clutch hitter and a team leader who hustled all the time, he was also versatile with the glove. Though a patient hitter, he did not make great contact--which led to too many strikeouts. Was a little reckless at times, both in the field and on the bases. His decline came quite rapidly.
