Sasaki is slated to make his Cactus League debut sometime in the middle of next week, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday on MLB Network that he anticipates Sasaki pitching during the March 18-19 series against the Cubs in Tokyo.

Sasaki was given a recommendation to undergo Tommy John surgery by a doctor prior to his first season with the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.

President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said Wednesday that the Dodgers plan to use Sasaki in their major-league rotation from the beginning of the season, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
