The Athletics traded Boyle, Jacob Watters and Will Simpson to the Rays on Saturday in exchange for Jeffrey Springs, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

The A's recalled Boyle from Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday.

The Athletics optioned Boyle to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Boyle is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Rays at Oakland Coliseum.

Boyle came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Mets, giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks over four-plus innings. He struck out six.

Boyle has posted a 9.00 ERA and issued nine walks over the five innings covering his two starts with Triple-A Las Vegas since being optioned June 5 following his IL stint due to a lower-back issue.
