Washington optioned Herz to the Florida Complex League Nationals on Friday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Herz will not start Friday against the Pirates as the game has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Herz (2-7) took the loss against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Herz didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Atlanta, allowing one hit and three walks across five scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

Herz (2-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings in a 4-1 loss to the Orioles. He struck out five.

Herz allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over five innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Sunday.

Herz is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Cardinals in St. Louis, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Herz (1-4) took the loss Tuesday as the Nationals fell 4-0 to the Padres, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.

The Nationals will recall Herz from Triple-A Rochester to start Tuesday's game against the Padres, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

The Nationals optioned Herz to Triple-A Rochester on Monday.
