Megill entered camp further along than most Mets starters and was slated to throw three innings of live batting practice this week, Andrew Tredinnick of NorthJersey.com reports.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Tuesday that Megill will be stretched out as a starting pitcher this spring, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The Mets and Megill avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Thursday.

Megill is on the Mets' roster for the NLDS versus Philadelphia.
