Torkelson was removed from the Tigers' lineup Tuesday due to an illness, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Torkelson went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Red Sox.

The Tigers will recall Torkelson from Triple-A Toledo prior to Saturday's game against the Yankees, Evan Petzold of The Detroit Free Press reports.

Torkelson is slashing .229/.347/.375 with five home runs, a 14.8 percent walk rate and a 30.6 percent strikeout rate over 173 plate appearances at Triple-A Toledo since his June 3 demotion.

The Tigers optioned Torkelson to Triple-A Toledo on Monday.

Torkelson is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Torkelson is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Boston.

Torkelson went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two additional runs scored in Sunday's 14-11 victory over Toronto.
