Atlanta president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos said Tuesday that it's unlikely Strider (elbow) will be ready for Opening Day, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Strider (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Strider suggested Friday that he could be back on a mound early next season after doctors found that his ligament was in "surprisingly good" shape during surgery, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Strider underwent surgery to repair the UCL in his right elbow and will miss the rest of the season.

Atlanta placed Strider (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Sunday.

Strider underwent an MRI on Saturday that revealed damage to the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He will be further evaluated by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas, at a date yet to be determined.

Strider will not start Wednesday after Atlanta's game versus the White Sox has been postponed due to inclement weather, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Strider and Atlanta won't face the Phillies on Thursday after the game was postponed due to forecasted rain in Philadelphia.

Strider has been named Atlanta's Opening Day starter, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
