Owns an ideal pitchers' frame (6-5, 220 pounds). Is adept at pounding the strike zone, keeping the ball down in the zone and getting ahead of batters. His control is fairly good and he can also strike batters out. May not have the arsenal to dominate big-league hitters, so he can surrender a few too many hits from time to time. Could stand to waste more pitches to better set hitters up.
