The White Sox placed Scholtens on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a left calf strain, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Scholtens was deployed in relief in Wednesday's 13-3 loss to the Nationals, giving up six runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one over two innings.

Scholtens (1-9) took the loss Friday as the White Sox were routed 10-2 by the Twins, coughing up six runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out five.

Scholtens (1-8) took the loss Sunday, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings in a 3-2 loss against the Tigers. He struck out four.

Scholtens (1-7) took the loss Monday against the Royals, allowing five runs on nine hits and one walk over 3.2 innings . He struck out one.

Scholtens came away with a no-decision Tuesday in the White Sox's 9-3 loss to the Orioles, allowing one run on six hits over 5.1 innings. He struck out one without walking a batter.

Scholtens allowed five runs on six hits and no walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Oakland on Thursday.

Scholtens (1-6) took the loss against Colorado on Saturday, allowing five runs on five hits and five walks while striking out two batters over three innings.
