| A terrific athlete, he had prodigious home-run power in the minor leagues. Also displayed a tremendous throwing arm, which made him a solid candidate to play on the left side of the infield. His left-handed swing was rather natural, but he was quite raw as a baseball player (he spent a lot of time playing football during his amateur days). Struck out an awful lot. Did not steal very many bases, either. Was unsuccessful in his attempt to convert to catcher prior to announcing his retirement. | |
